AAPC is returning to Las Vegas for HEALTHCON 2019, the largest revenue cycle management event of the year. Slated for April 28 to May 1 at Caesars Palace, the conference offers the opportunity for entertainment as well as education, including an a cappella concert by Eclipse 6. Attendees resisting the siren call of shows, shops, and slots can enjoy a keynote by Karen DeSalvo, MD, MPH, MSc, on the public health changes she’s overseen. Other noteworthy sessions include an interactive discussion on the upcoming changes to the E/M Documentation Guidelines, and cautionary health care fraud tales from Office of Inspector General investigations.
Sessions cover topics such as billing, practice management, compliance, auditing, and coding. Attendees can use the Experience Planner to narrow down what might be of most interest. For example, those interested in coding can consider attending “MACRA and Its Effect on Coding and Billing,” “Advanced E/M: Dissection of a Clinical Note,” “Telemedicine Services,” “Lowering the Pressure on Coding Hypertension,” or “Mental Health & the Opioid Crisis — What Do We Code?”
In addition to the Exhibit Hall filled with more than 75 vendors, AAPC offers a popular Anatomy Expo, which allows attendees to get an in-depth look inside the human body, and a Facility Expo, where attendees can learn the latest in documentation, coding, billing, EMRs, audits, and more.
