This year’s Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) ANI will be held June 25–28 in Orlando, Florida. The ANI 2017 educational content is focused on collaboration, and attendees even have the opportunity to influence content and request sessions that aren’t already included in the program by answering polls and e-mailing topic recommendations to education@hfma.org. The resulting content will be presented in Attendee Choice Sessions throughout the conference.
On the opening day of the conference, Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough, hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, will each present a Keynote Spotlight session, followed by a joint keynote presentation on America’s changing landscape. Afterwards, attendees can head straight to the opening reception for refreshments and entertainment. For another opportunity to mingle with fellow attendees, spend Tuesday night at “Cheers! To Collaboration,” which promises DJs, dancing, and disco balls along with an open bar and unlimited food. Additionally, a new networking option this year is the Collaboration Hub, which includes a Career Center where attendees can receive coaching.
Attendees can also take advantage of Sunday’s Preconference Workshops, one of which is “MACRA: Charting Your Course Using Quality and Resource Use Reports.” Following the workshops are HFMA Initiatives Sessions, such as “International Perspectives on Health Care—Challenges and Opportunities from Across the Globe.”
The Breakout Sessions include “Washington Legislative & Regulatory Update: Impact of the Election,” “Collaborative Engagement with Physicians in the Fee-for-Value Environment,” and “The Power of Analytics: Identifying Persistent High-Need, High-Cost Patients.” The 7 AM Early Riser sessions cover “Understanding the Internet of Things,” “Coding Staffing: Considering Offshore and Hybrid Solutions,” and more. Leadership Labs include “Creating a Culture that Empowers: Encouraging Patients to Take an Active Role in Financial Outcomes” and “Inspired by Women Lead HERe: Creating A Professional Presence & The Art of Negotiation,” among others.
The exhibit hall, open Monday and Tuesday, will be home to the exhibit hall reception and lunches, as well as more than 400 exhibitors offering health care finance solutions.
Attendees can tweet about the conference using #HFMA2017ANI and download the ANI mobile app to stay connected. The app allows users to create an itinerary, take notes, view maps, participate in polls, and more.
