Aviacode, which delivers technology-enabled medical coding services, has announced a partnership with AAPC to provide Practicode, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution to educate and evaluate medical coders. Practicode consists of multiple online modules that help medical coders strengthen coding skills, demonstrate proficiency, and earn continuing education units through AAPC.
Using actual clinical cases with all identifiable personal information removed, Practicode modules provide user-friendly practice and training while helping to meet professional goals. Coders can improve skills using the cloud-based modules in general or specialty specific coding. CPC-As seeking to meet professional experience requirements can earn one year of experience through successful completion of the Practicode CPC-A practicum. In addition, employers can evaluate coding proficiency of new hires or test existing employees’ proficiency in new specialties and prepare for ICD-10.
Practicode enables educational institutions to offer real-world experience as part of their medical coding curriculum. Aviacode will continue to sell its institutional edition to schools nationwide.
