AHDI Announces New 2020–2021 Board Members, Executive Committee

The Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) is pleased to announce the addition of three new members and one reelected member to the Board of Directors, who will serve under the leadership of incoming President Bonnie Monico, CHDS, AHDI-F. The Board of Directors also announced officers for 2020–2021.

“Patt King was determined to Break Boundaries during her time as president, and I dare say she accomplished what she set out to do!” says Sheila Guston, CHDS, AHDI-F, Interim CEO of AHDI. “It was her mission to ensure that global members feel welcome here in our AHDI world and to acknowledge the many roles that our members play in the health care documentation industry. As her term comes to an end, we thank Patt for her visionary leadership over the past year and look forward to the passion and energy that Bonnie Monico will bring as she assumes presidency for the second time. We also wish to thank Leigh Anne Frame, Carol Waddell, and Lee Ann Wilmot for their innumerable contributions during their time on the Board of Directors. Julia Dyviniak, Jody Gall, and Tina Hincka are welcome additions to the board, as is the return of Joyce Smith for a second term. We are grateful for their willingness to serve. Our 2020–2021 Board of Directors is well positioned to continue the work that has been started and is excited about the future.”

The following individuals were elected by the AHDI membership in June and will serve three-year board terms from September 1, 2020, to August 31, 2023: Julia Dyviniak, CHDS, AHDI-F; Jody Gall, RHDS; Tina Hincka, RHDS; and Joyce Smith, AHDI-F (reelected).

Bonnie Monico, CHDS, AHDI-F, states, “It is indeed my privilege to lead our association in the year ahead as we create and implement a new strategic plan that will take AHDI into the future. We will be positioning ourselves at the forefront of health care documentation integrity. With our second virtual conference now behind us, I need to recognize all those whose time and energy went into bringing us such a fantastic event. I look forward to working with the AHDI staff, board, and volunteers to build membership and expand our reach. With all that is going on in the world today, join me as we get ready to pivot toward a brighter tomorrow!"

On August 10, 2020, the Board of Directors elected the following individuals to serve as officers for 2020–2021, taking office September 1, 2020: Cyndi Sandusky, CHDS, AHDI-F, secretary; Julia Dyviniak, CHDS, AHDI-F, treasurer; and Stacy Lehto, CHDS, president-elect.

AHDI recognizes and expresses gratitude to outgoing President Patt King, CHDS, who will begin her term as Immediate Past President, and the following board members whose terms end August 31, 2020: Leigh Anne Frame, CHDS, AHDI-F; Carol Waddell, CMT, AHDI-F; and Lee Ann Wilmot, CHDS, CHTS-CP, AHDI-F.
