Geisinger Introduces Web-Based Cost Estimator

With consumers responsible for a larger portion of their healthcare costs than ever before, a new tool on the Geisinger Web site makes it easier to estimate the cost of care before treatment.

In addition, the Web-based tool makes it possible for consumers to estimate how their benefits apply to a specific service and how much they will owe out of pocket.

Geisinger’s Quick Care Cost Estimator at www.geisinger.org is located at the bottom right of the page, providing 24/7 information to consumers. The tool details common procedures (for inpatient stays and office visits) from 22 Geisinger departments and breaks the cost down further by Geisinger’s five most common insurers (Capital Blue Cross, Geisinger Health Plan, Health America, Highmark, and Medicare).
