Pulse Systems, a provider of EHR, practice management, and revenue cycle management solutions, recently announced it has published a free eBook on ICD-10-CM/PCS. Pulse's interactive training guide breaks down coding set differences between ICD-9 and ICD-10 with easy-to-understand definitions of key terms, outlines changes in clinical documentation by specialty including clinical scenarios, and also offers an implementation guide to help physician practices identify the main areas that will be impacted by the application of the new ICD-10 coding structure.
Pulse is offering the free training guide to help physician practices focus on what ICD-10 means for their particular medical specialty as they make the switch. The structural changes throughout the entire ICD-10 coding system are significant, and the increased level of complexity will not only require additional training for coders, but will also require significant coordination with physicians, billing staff, and any department in a practice that currently utilizes ICD-9.
"Preparation is the best offense and Pulse's latest eBook, the ICD-10 implementation guide, is designed to minimize providers' concerns related to the ICD-10 conversion by thoroughly training them in advance," says Samuel S. Ambrose, chief marketing officer of Pulse Systems.
Pulse has successfully tested ICD-10 claims with multiple leading clearinghouses in March 2014, and has developed many ICD-10 preparedness tools to train physician practices and their employees about ICD-10. All of Pulse's ICD-10 education tools are available via a free download.
